About the studio
A small atelier for the animals we love most
Velvet & Whisker began with a single question: why do the animals who shape our days so rarely get a proper portrait? We paint companions the way old ateliers painted patrons — with attention, a little theatre and real affection.
Every commission starts from your photograph. We study the set of the ears, the expression around the eyes, the way the fur catches light, and compose them into one of our fifteen original characters. You see a proof before anything is printed, and two refinement rounds are part of every order.
The finished pieces are printed on silk-coated paper, framed in pine and shipped with tracking. We keep the range small on purpose: a handful of collections, made carefully, rather than a catalogue of everything.
